Cosy cafe that is a great place to hang out and play games of all varieties; often playing lofi beats, the atmosphere is great and supremely welcoming. The food is consistently good too.

Great place to come and hang out with your pals. Loads of board games to try out and play for free, not to mention its always a great place to study. Great events held here all the time. Always amazing customer service too.

We've been here many times now and this is a great place to go for an afternoon of board games. They have plenty to choose from for free or you can go to their game and card shop next door and buy a new game to play in the cafe. We've done both options and had a blast! The staff are wonderful - personable and fun to chat with. They even considered our feedback for a possible vegan option when we brought a vegan friend (it's a small cafe and they do very well with what they have and they did offer a smaller vegan snack right away). All the food I've had is delicious and great gaming fuel. I always get a milkshake as I love trying their daily flavours. Definitely check this place out!

This cozy cafe has left the best impressions! Excellent hosts, delicious dishes, that are beautifully presented, the ambiance is very welcoming and its just the place to chill for some time to yourself or enjoy one of the many board games on offer to play! Excellent coffee and food to match. Do yourself a favour and visit Dundee’s hidden gem! We are very fortunate to have a place like this in Dundee.

Found this wee place tonight after our plans to go to another coffee shop fell through. Dundee doesn’t have enough indie coffee shops that are still open in the evening so very glad I found the Highlander Board Game Cafe and will defo be making regular visits going forward. The owner is super friendly and approachable…and pours a mean cappuccino! Highly recommended, defo worth a visit.

THE place for all nerds to hang out. The choice of board games is wide, so whether you're after a 3m game (cogs and commissars) or 3h game (Root), you'll find something for you. You can stay however long you want and the games are FREE to enjoy. It'd be rude to take advantage of pricing model so un-agressive so show your appreciation to the friendly and knowledgeable staff by getting a snack or drink. I'd especially recommend their Mocha or Dirty Chai. It's basically Cake and Dice but better in every single aspect, cheaper tastier and much more genuine.
